STEPS
Petal Bag
1. Set the sewing machine up with a straight stitch. Matching thread in top and bobbin and new universal 80/12 needle.
2. Cut and press fabric.
3. Place 15” squares right side together and sew ¼” seam allowance all the way around. Use the Sew-n-Fold method to get nice crisp corners.
4. Turn pieces right side out using the EZ Point & Turner. Use the bamboo point turner to help get point and press.
5. Topstitch ¼” around all four sides, make sure to catch the opening.
6. Create casings. With Outside of bag right side up, measure from each corner 5” on all sides. At the 5” mark on each corner fold towards the outside showing off the Inside. Pin fold in place and repeat on all four corners.
7. Sew ½” away from the fold on each corner through all layers, backstitch at the beginning and end.
8. Cut ribbon in half so there are (2) 1-yard cuts. Feed one ribbon through each casing and tie a knot at the end. Repeat with the other 1-yard cut from the opposite direction. This will create the drawstring effect.
9. Fill with goodies and give your gift along with the petal bag.
