I’m thrilled to say this is now my second year participating in the #SewPink Initiative from ByAnnie.com, Patterns by Annie. I’ve got a terrific GIVEAWAY too, scroll to see the details.
This year I decided to do my first time ever sewing pattern review and I used the Piecekeeper Project Bag as my pattern to test. Learn more about this pattern and the #SewPink Initiative below.
When I was a young girl I remember hearing about cancer and how my grandmother died from that terrible word. The thoughts that went through my head were scared and confused. My parents explained that it is important to educate yourself on the topic and even when later my grandfather passed away from cancer the word terrified me.
Fast forward when I was in my late twenties, my father was diagnosed with cancer and that is finally when the word no longer frightened me, it was now time to learn more about what it meant, what I can do, and how we get my father better. After years of treatment, my father finally he was told he was in remission. Though I’ve never personally lost a loved one to breast cancer, I’ve known a handful of strong women who fought it and lived to tell their stories.
